Development Update – January 2017

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had been silent for two months, and I think it’s time to let you all know that we are still busy developing The Falconers: Moonlight, to have it out in time by the schedule. Things had been slower than what was originally schedule, but we’re trying to catch up now.

Due to the nature of the story, which is a mystery thriller, it is difficult for us to let out more on what coming up next after the story in Preview Demo without spoilers. So I’ll drop some of the concept art sketches here to hint of what to come.

Another thing that had been update since Preview Demo is the user interface. It get much prettier and even more minimalist. This should help make it easier to get immerse into the visual and text story without getting distracted by unnecessary GUI element. The narrative text has much stronger outline shadow to help make the text more standout from the background, and easier to read. The quick menu has been moved and hidden away until you need it. This is likely the final GUI that you will see in the final product. Here is video of the newly design GUI in the work:

There also had been some adjustments to the story you have seen in Preview Demo. More choices and additional dialogues has been added in to help clarify things. The first route of the story has already been put into the visual novel. Yes, you can actually read from start to the end of the story right now, but as a visual novel, it is not ready without other branches to explores. We’re currently working on that part.

Some has asked if we will push the new GUI and new story update to the first chapter out as another demo, the answer is maybe, but we’re focusing on getting the final product out by the beginning of Q2 2017 right now, so there is no promise that there will be another demo before then.

Finally, thank you for all the feedback from the Preview Demo. They really help pushing us along the development, and your ideas help improve our overall product. It is not long now until we reach our deadline. Until next time!
